Biosimilars are having an increasing role to play in the Canadian health system. How can you stay informed and involved?

  • Provide your comments and questions to Arthritis Consumer Experts at feedback@jointhealth.org
  • Continue to share perspectives and experiences around this important medication treatment topic
  • Help educate your community – they will be affected by the arrival of biosimilars
  • Understand how biosimilars are assessed and listed on public and private drug plans
  • Take the MOOC online course: developed by leading researchers and clinicians across Canada, this course will enhance knowledge and skills for patients who are using, or beginning to use, a biosimilar.

Ask your health care professional or patient support program about these important questions:

  • What are the experts saying about biosimilars?
  • Will a biosimilar work for me?
  • What is the nocebo effect?
  • What clinical evidence supports the safety and efficacy of switching from an originator biologic to its biosimilar version
  • What are features of the biosimilar's patient support program?
